What’s Actually Included in Your Wedding Photography

Modern Romantic Tips from Love, Violeta Rose

Let’s be real, wedding photography is an investment. But when couples start planning, many don’t realize what’s actually included in that price tag beyond “just showing up with a camera.”

As a NYC-based wedding photographer, I’ve heard every question from “how many photos will we get?” to “why does photography cost so much?” This post is here to walk you through what’s really included in your wedding photography package, so you know exactly what you’re paying for, and why it’s worth every penny.

1. Planning & Prep Support Long Before the Big Day

The work starts long before I press the shutter. From the moment you book, I’m your partner in planning. I’ll help build a photography-friendly timeline, suggest ideal lighting windows, and answer all the “what do we do if it rains?” questions. My job is to make your life easier, not just to take pretty pictures.

2. Your Full Wedding Day Story—Not Just the Highlights

I’m there to tell the whole story—not just the Pinterest-perfect moments. That means the quiet champagne toast with your best friend, the nervous deep breath before walking down the aisle, and the dance floor chaos at 11PM.

Depending on your package, you’ll receive:

  • Coverage ranging from 6 to 10 hours

  • 500–1000+ fully edited high-res images

  • Access to an online gallery to easily download, share, and print

  • Optional add-ons like a 45-minute engagement session or fine art wedding album

3. Expert Editing With a Signature Style

Every single image you receive has been hand-edited by me with care and consistency. I don’t outsource. This ensures your gallery feels timeless, romantic, and true to your day—not over-filtered or trendy.

What editing includes:

  • Culling thousands of images down to the best of the best

  • Color correction and exposure balancing

  • Skin tone smoothing and flyaway retouching (while keeping it natural)

  • Film-inspired tones if you selected hybrid coverage

4. Genuine Connection & Emotional Comfort

One of the most overlooked parts of choosing a wedding photographer? How they make you feel. The couples I work with often tell me, “We felt so comfortable around you, like we could just be ourselves.”

That comfort translates into photos that are real and full of life. You’re not hiring someone to take pictures, you’re hiring someone to witness your love.

“We didn’t feel posed or stiff at all—Caitlyn made us feel like we were just hanging out, and the photos reflect that so beautifully.” – Matt & Leah
